The best way to come to Makassar is by flying to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Makassar (UPG) (Indonesian: Bandar Udara Internasional Sultan Hasanuddin). Sultan Hasanuddin Airport is located about 18 km north east of Makassar and it will take another 25 minutes to the city bus/shuttle (depend on traffic jam). Makassar is a hub for eastern Indonesia, it makes almost all Indonesian airlines fly to or transit in this city.
